I am an Industrial Psychologist in private practice based in Port Elizabeth but available to travel.  I have 2 Master’s degrees in Industrial Psychology and am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.  I worked in a purely Corporate environment for 18 years and my areas of specialization included career management, talent management & succession planning, recruitment & selection, occupational psychological assessment and training & development.  I also spent 2 years in Consulting where I focused on providing HR & Business consulting services to clients with the aim of optimizing talent in order to improve operational efficiencies.  I am now in Private Practice and my areas of specialist offering are listed below (wherever you insert them).

As professionals, Industrial Psychologists do work that may have a profound impact on peoples’ lives and wellbeing.  As such, I am bound by the Industrial Psychologists oath which guides my philosophy of work.  This Oath reminds us that there needs to be balance and serving the society and creating value for it is an imperative responsibility of an Industrial Psychologist.  One of the primary purposes of an Industrial Psychologist is to serve the greater good by bringing people, organisations and society together to create value – this is my commitment and promise to my clients.

Sales Executive

POSITION:                SALES EXECUTIVE
DEPARTMENT:       MEDIA SALES

Main purpose of the position
To generate revenue for the channel through selling of airtime

Key accountabilities

  • Generate and maximize revenue for Mpuma Kapa TV.
  • Develop and exceed agreed Sales Targets.
  • Identify and exploit new business opportunities proactively.
  • Continual analysis and evaluation of current business in order to grow and maximize revenue.
  • Analyze competition and market trends to identify and optimize on opportunities.
  • Sourcing and evaluation of lost/dropped business, determination of reasons in order to re-establish business.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with clients in order to generate revenue.
  • Informal client research relating to their business and planned activities (previous, current and future advertising) in order to understand their needs and identify opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Develop client database to ensure client relationship management.
  • Follow up on all sales leads timeously.
  • Develop proactive client solutions/initiatives and present proposals to clients and close deals.
  • Facilitate client workshops in order to generate sales.
  • Timeous delivery and presentation of rate cards, packages, etc.
  • Efficient after sales services in order to ensure client satisfaction and future business.
  • Communicate results of advertising campaigns to clients in the form of a Post Campaign Analysis.
  • Ensure that contracts are timeously delivered to clients.
  • Sound administration and weekly status reporting.
  • Handle all client requests and enquiries effectively and timeously.
  • Maintain sound working inter-departmental relationships with the relevant Mpuma Kapa TV business units i.e. Marketing Services, Programming, Content, News teams.
  • Ensure that all Mpuma Kapa TV policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Submit all sales and call reports on time.

 

Requirements

  • Matric and Certificate Sales & Marketing Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 5)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in media sales environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Basic understanding of broadcasting industry and media
  • Filing system development and management
  • Basic finance principles
  • Excellent presentation and good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Customer Service orientated/focused
  • Problem solving skills
  • Planning and organizing
  • Time management
  • Data & trends analyses and interpretation

 

Remuneration : Basic plus Commission
